Grand Canyon trip

Everyone should take their family to see the Grand Canyon at least once in a lifetime.  There is no better family vacation than a Grand Canyon trip.  There is enough to please just about everyone in this 277 mile national park in Arizona.   From natural beauty, to Native American culture to early 20th century history, a Grand Canyon trip has something for everyone.

There are plenty of hotels in which to stay around the Grand Canyon, especially the Southern Rim.  There are modern hotels that offer convenience and comforts.  One of the most luxurious hotels in the area is the El Tovar Hotel that is rustic chalet built in 1905.   The hotel sports a unique gift shop and exquisite restaurant on the premises and is the best place to stay during your Grand Canyon trip if you admire luxury as well as history.

Whether you seek a luxury trip or a more rustic vacation, you can find what you are seeking from your family Grand Canyon trip.  This is one of the few places in the country where you can visit and enjoy natural beauty, history and culture all in one place.  And there are so many things to do, especially along the Southern Rim, which is the most popular area for tourists and contains the most older buildings, as well as the valley that has hundreds of ancient caves that can be explored.

You can easily spend two weeks during your Grand Canyon visit exploring the sites of the canyon.  If you wish to camp in the valley, you can easily obtain a permit to do so.  You can take a mule ride down into the valley of the canyon, which is exciting for people of all ages.

If you have older children, there are plenty of activities that you can enjoy both in the valley as well as along the rim of the Grand Canyon.  In addition to the mule rides, you can also hike through the canyon and explore some of the caves.

One exciting way to really tour the Grand Canyon is to take a helicopter ride over a portion of the Grand Canyon.  Helicopter rides are available for the entire family and are a delightful way to see the gorge and all its beauty.  The entire family can enjoy a one hour helicopter ride all over the Southern Rim of the canyon that offers the most of the scenic views.

Another way to enjoy your family Grand Canyon trip is to take an airplane ride over the Grand Canyon.  This can offer you a better view of the beauty of the canyon but is usually a bit more expensive.  However, it is very comfortable and the flight can even fly over Hoover Dam and Las Vegas as there are so many sights to see in this part of the country.

Whether you enjoy camping or just simply family fun, there is plenty of things to do during your Grand Canyon trip.  No matter how you choose to see the canyon, or what you want to do once you get there, make sure to make your Grand Canyon trip the vacation of a lifetime.
